Rising Sound With Michael Barnes & Marli

It was a pleasure having Marli on the show—a singer and songwriter bringing years of performing experience and a deeply personal touch to R&B, soul and pop. Originally from Bocholt and now based in Berlin, the half-Italian artist writes in English and Italian, drawing inspiration from RAYE, Jorja Smith and Mahmood. Her journey includes supporting Izzy Escobar in Cologne and Berlin and releasing her debut EP, “reflections : projections”. Its track “Baby Girl” offers a message of self-compassion, with artwork featuring her grandfather’s jacket and a childhood photograph—thoughtful details that make her music feel unmistakably her own. @marlimuse
