Brick Lane Jazz Festival

The inaugural Brick Lane Jazz Festival takes place this weekend at Truman Brewery, showcasing a selection of artists making waves on London’s vibrant jazz scene. Blue Lab Beats, Kansas Smitty’s and Judi Jackson lead an impressive lineup of jazztronica, afrobeat, blues and much more.

Blue Lab Beats, whom you may recognise from a Glastonbury performance (and an Apple commercial) have propelled themselves into the limelight with an irresistible fusion of hip-hop, US jazz and electronica, and take to Werkhaus on Saturday night.

Kansas Smitty’s’ pedigree certainly catches the eye, featuring Ezra Collective star Dylan Jones and up-and-comer Jas Kayser, with the act drawing upon the likes of Brian Eno and Duke Ellington to create a unique sound that will grace Juju’s Bar and Stage on Friday night.

The festival runs from 22nd-24th April across five venues at Truman Brewery. Tickets to each show can be bought individually, or all-access day passes are available from just £25 here.
