Birkenstock 250th Anniversary Exhibition

Birkenstock celebrated its 250th anniversary this week and we were there to join in the celebrations at their flagship site in the Truman Brewery.

Kicking off the launch of their Anniversary Mini Exhibition which runs until this Sunday 8th September, we had a private preview of never seen before archive materials, original marketing material, examples of previous brand campaigns and editorials.

Birkenstock known for its contoured cork footbeds, made with layers of suede and jute which confirm to the shape of the wearer’s feet have ventured out of the original style with more high fashion in the marketplace these days. They have collaborated on designs with Heidi Klum, have been spotted on the Paris Celine runway and some designer brands have even created their own version of the sandal including Giambattista and Givenchy.

Founded by Johann Adam Bikenstock back in 1774, in Germany, the brand has 54 owned stores globally, however locally you can find them in Office Shoes at Westfields in Stratford.
