BBC Proms 2022
The BBC Proms returns this summer for its first full eight-week season in two years. Public Service Broadcasting lead the billing with a BBC centenary commission celebrating a century of BBC Radio’s service to public broadcasting; backed by the Symphony Orchestra.
With PSB gracing the Royal Albert Hall on 30th August, other highlights include Verdi’s Requiem on opening night, the ballet scores of Swan Lake and Romeo and Juliet on 14th August, and of course the classic Last Night of the Proms celebration on 10th September.
Radio 1 also brings a unique partnership with the Proms for a late-night wind-down, featuring a stripped-back set of collaborations and explorations conducted by Chillest Show presenter Sian Eleri on 16th July at 10:30pm till late.
The Proms run from 15th July – 10th September. Every Prom will be live on BBC Sounds and Radio 3 with 22 Proms on TV and iPlayer. More information here.
