The Horror Show! At Somerset House

Savour the spooky season at Somerset House this October, with their new major exhibition The Horror Show!

Featuring over 200 artworks, the exhibition presents an alternative perspective on horror, looking back at the last 50 years of British culture in three acts: Monster, Ghost and Witch.

The first archetype, Monster, explores the economic & political turbulence of the 70s & 80s and the individuals who rose to significance and caused disruption & destruction in society.

The second section Ghost examines the descent from 80s hyperculture to the faceless digital age accompanied by eerie trance music and an immersive sound installation.

The third act, Witch, compares the new abilities of our digital age with the magical powers of covens – think supernatural sculptures from Turner Prize winners & powerful paintings of flying witches, never before seen in the UK.

The Horror Show! commences 27th October til 19th February at Somerset House, tickets are £16 available here.
