Tech Show w Tate Modern 27.10.21

Carly Whitefield, Assistant Curator of International Art at the Tate Modern, gives us the scoop on the latest Hyundai Commission for the Turbine Hall, undertaken this year by Anicka Yi. Yi is known for her experimental, cross-disciplinary approach and for experimenting with unorthodox materials that have ranged from tempura batter to kombucha leather.

Hyundai Commission: Anicka Yi is open at the Tate Modern until 16 January 2022.

This week marks the 20th anniversary of the iPod – tune in to find out what song was used to test the very first prototype! And of course there’s the latest tech news: Spotify expect to have over 400M users by the end of the year, Japanese bike manufacturer ICOMA has released a foldable electric motorcycle dubbed the Tatamel Bike, a much anticipated ‘Dune: Part Two’ announcement has just dropped, and more!

Plus Tanya spins some of her favourite dance, house and disco tunes – this week there’s music from the likes of Purple Disco Machine, Dam Swindle, Folamour, Bonobo, and Jamiroquai.
