Tate Britain: Turner and Constable

Tate Britain will illuminate our horizons this November with a brand new show exploring the “intertwined lives and legacies of Britain’s most revered landscape artists”.

Turner and Constable: Rivals and Originals, staged across the 250th anniversary years of their births, traces their careers parallel from one another. JMW Turner (1775–1851) and John Constable (1776–1837).

By exploring the ways they were applauded, criticised and pitted against each other, Tate showcases the painters innovative artistic visions in the face of controversy.

Both artists challenged the conventional ways of viewing and representing the world and their work has, rightly so, stood the test of time.

Tate Britain: Turner and Constable is running from Thursday 27th November to Sunday 12th April 2026.
