Review of Paula Rego at The National Gallery

Paula Rego celebrates Carlo Crivelli’s The Madonna of the Swallow and her residency at the National Gallery with her piece, Crivelli’s Garden, on display from today.

Saved from the indifferent diners, cash machines, and gravy splatters of the Sainsbury dining room where it originally lived, the magnificent panels now receive a room of their own.

Many of the National Gallery staff depicted by Rego in the mural were present for its unveiling, reunited with the artwork two decades later.

Come enjoy the legendary painting at The National Gallery where it is on display until 29 October. More information here.
