Queer East film festival

Genesis Cinema and the Barbican Centre are among the picture houses chosen to showcase the best of LGBTQ+ East Asian cinema for this year’s Queer East pride season.

Cinema-goers can catch UK premieres of films such as “Memories of My Body” (Barbican Centre, 6 July), a biopic that explores the life of Juno who is trained as a Lengger Lanang, a man who performs as a woman, and As We Like It (Genesis Cinema, 16 Juy), a reworking of Shakespeare exploring human desire with an all-female cast.
