Pascale is back on Hoxton Radio for her final show before a little break!
This week’s show takes a wander through London’s music, arts and culture, with new music from Medium Build, a Bilk spotlight, and a couple of tracks from female grime artists after Pascale found herself going down a rabbit hole researching the history and communities behind the genre.

She’s also got plenty of London recommendations, including the Museum of Youth Culture, Dr Joy White’s When Community Talks exploring grime, community and gentrification, Marti Perramon at Next Door Records, beabadoobee’s Pylon release show, and a couple of darker weekend picks with Jonathan Glazer’s Birth and Saint Avangeline at MOTH Club.

Plus, Pascale talks about something a little closer to home: her new volunteering role as a care-home befriender, and why sometimes simply showing up and giving someone a bit of your time can be a meaningful way to connect with your community.

Music, films, fringe theatre, London events and a little bit of community — all wrapped up in two hours with Pascale.

One of Pascale’s recommendations from this week’s show was Women on the Fringe, a female-led mockumentary about the chaotic world of trying to make fringe theatre happen.

The film follows two young Irish women attempting to pull off an ambitious, low-budget production while battling wonky set pieces, snarky performers, enormous egos and each other.

The film has already screened at festivals in New York, Atlanta and Los Angeles, picking up nominations including Best Ensemble, Best Cinematography and Best Mockumentary, and is now getting its London premiere at the Saturn Returns Film Festival.

The festival celebrates and amplifies women’s voices in film, with screenings alongside panels and opportunities for filmmakers to share knowledge and experiences from across the industry.
