I’m off on hols to Morocco in a few days and the first thing I pack are tunes. So before I gather what may be seen as more important artifacts for the journey, I thought I’d share some of what I’ll be listening to.

There’s a bit of Moroccan in Douaa (discoy pop), Fadoul (James Brown covers in Arabic) and more legit tunes from Maâlem Mahmoud Guinia (with Floating Points), plus magical desert blues from Mali, Nubian soul from Ali Hassan Kuban and Mariem Hassan’s joyful energy. Sand for your ears.
