Natalia At the Counter with Wine Car Boot
This weeks show saw the incredible duo behind London’s first ever independent wine market join Natalia. Ruth Spivey, the 2016 GQ Sommelier of the Year and Ruth Osbourne, the ‘Fixer’ behind Dan Barber’s wastED pop up at Selfridges and Blixen at Latitude brought their effervescent wine and attitudes to our airwaves for a special on air tasting. Wine Car Boot will be popping up at Granary Square on Saturday 10th June, 12-8pm – admission is FREE and the wine will be free-flowing.
Today they brought in three wines from the latest trend to hit the Big Smoke, the wine shop turn wine bar. Vinoteca, Newcomer Wines and Passione Vino are all wine importers, suppliers and bars in some respect. We kicked things off with a natural prosecco, Malibran, found at Italian wine suppliers Passione Vino, located on Leonard Street. We’re told their wine selection isn’t the only thing to write home about, offering a fantastic space and delicious ham selection.
Next up was an Australian Rielsing from Vinoteca owners Charlie and Brett, who call themsleves Rodney and The Horse, and so aptly called their wine after it. It’s a zesty number, perfect for lunch time or afternoon quaffing.
Rounding out our tasting was a beautiful and light red, Puszta Libre from Newcomer Wines, made in the Burgenland by Claus Preisinger. This is an everyday wine, and Newcomer’s Dalston home is the place to drink it, or pick up a bottle to enjoy in the comfort of your own home.
