Michael Barnes with Meghann Herlihy

Australian artist, musician and filmmaker Meghann Herlihy creates cinematic electronic music that brings together trip-hop, mythology and psychological horror. Now based in London, her latest release, “The Lure”, draws on siren folklore, nineteenth-century maritime paintings and the film of the same name. Hypnotic vocals, guitar and wave-like rhythms tell a story of seduction between two creatures who each believe they’re doing the hunting. It follows “Grimoire”, an exploration of forgiveness and the stories we repeat until we mistake them for truth.

Beyond her solo music, Meghann’s creative world spans acting, filmmaking and writing. Her novella, Scales: The Monster & The Muse, follows a woman transformed into a mute mermaid, continuing her fascination with desire, danger and transformation. These projects provide the starting point for a conversation about her journey from Perth to London, the characters behind her songs, and how she brings her visual imagination into music—with space to discover what releases and live performances come next.
