Liberty Phelps X Gary Nicholls X Santana Mongoley
This week Liberty was joined in the studio by one of the UK’s top steampunk photographers, Gary Nicholls to talk about his exceptional trilogy of books ‘The Imaginarium’. They discussed the UK’s biggest steampunk festival in Lincoln, Asylum running from 23rd-26th August. We learnt about everything that goes into his art from the costumes, to the art and technology. Catch him at London Comic Con from 17th-20th May where you can meet him in the flesh and take at look at his incredible body of work at the Steampunk Emporium. Check out his artwork HERE.
Also in the Hoxton House, Libby welcomed the Congolese LEGEND, Santana Mongoley and his band mate Smokey into the studio. They played three tracks including Climate Change, Dark Heart and Legendary. After performing live at Nunfest over last week’s bank holiday, the pair are planning on taking the London music scene by storm and open us up to a genre of music which makes you want to shake what your mumma gave ya!
Keeping the bank holiday vibes at a high, Libby chose Amber Titchener’s cover of ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ from the BBC Kent Sessions as her cover of the week and revealed the first winner to receive a pair of tickets to see Christine and The Queens at All Points East!
…and what is a bank holiday without good times and great food? Head over to The People’s Park Tavern at Victoria Park to try out their new menu, boogie along to live DJ sets and get ready for their Easter egg hunt in the pub to win 5 pairs of tickets to see Christine and The Queens at APE.
