Kpop’s KCON is back and Japan is about to be loud!
KCON is officially back and honestly… my wallet is already nervous.
The global K-pop takeover kicks off in Chiba, Japan from May 8th–10th, before heading stateside for the August LA dates, and I swear this might be one of the most chaotic (in the best way) line-ups yet.
Japan is getting FED.
We’re talking heavy hitters like TWS, JO1, and my current obsession &TEAM (yes, I will be screaming). The crossover energy this year feels extra strong, with Japanese and Korean acts sharing the stage in a way that just makes sense for KCON’s whole global vibe.
And then we’ve got the newbies.
Alpha Drive One and Cortis are stepping into the spotlight, which is honestly one of my favourite things about KCON — you discover your next bias before they blow up.
On the girl group front? Stacked.
Kiss of Life are officially back on the touring circuit despite last year’s controversy, and I know people will be watching closely. Add in more girl power from Hearts2Hearts and Izna, and the energy is already feeling elite.
For anyone new here, KCON is basically if Comic Con, a K-pop concert, and a Korean culture festival had a very loud, glittery baby. It’s not just concerts (though the night shows are insane). During the day you’ve got fan meetings, artist panels, random play dance chaos, beauty booths, food stalls — it’s a full cultural immersion moment.
What started in LA has grown into this huge global celebration with stops in Korea, Japan, Thailand, the UAE, Europe — and every single one has its own flavour. But the one constant? The fandom energy is unmatched. Lightsticks everywhere. Outfit planning weeks in advance. New friendships made in queue lines.
KCON isn’t just a festival — it’s an experience. And honestly? Chiba is about to be loud.
Now excuse me while I rewatch &TEAM fancams and pretend I’m not already planning my outfits. Full line-up on this reel.
