King’s Cross Gets a Korean Street Food Takeover This Bank Holiday

London’s food scene is about to get a serious glow-up as the very first Korean food festival lands at JUNG Festival in King’s Cross this early May bank holiday weekend. It’s all about “jeong” — that warm, fuzzy feeling of connection you get when sharing good food — and honestly, that vibe runs through the whole event.

Running from May 1 to 4, the festival takes over Canopy Market and The Crossing, with Saturday 2 May (the day most people will show up hungry) open from 11am to 6pm. It’s free to get in, which makes it dangerously easy to wander in “just for a look” and leave three dishes deep.

Expect over 20 food traders bringing everything from crispy Korean fried chicken to steaming bowls of tteokbokki, plus street snacks like hotteok and those addictive twisted doughnuts. Names like Chickenhaus, Hongdae Pocha, Kiwa and Cheemc are all in the mix, so it’s not just a token lineup — it’s a proper showcase.

Beyond the food, there’s a whole cultural layer woven in. Independent Korean brands are setting up shop with snacks, ingredients and lifestyle bits, while nearby you might stumble into traditional games, fashion stalls or even a hanbok try-on moment.

The whole thing feels less like a formal festival and more like a big, buzzing Korean street market dropped into central London. Come hungry, bring friends, and don’t plan on eating just once.
