East London Waterworks Park

East London Waterworks Park is looking to acquire and transform a 5 hectare area in Waltham Forest into a ‘brownfield rainforest’, offering East Londoners a chance to “immerse themselves in nature”.

The area, currently a tarmacked depot in the middle of Lea Valley, will facilitate wild swimming, biodiversity conservation and will showcase the first environment-focussed community-led approach to land ownership.

The Park are looking to crowdfund £500,000 by the end of October, with donors able to enjoy perks such as dedicating a tree to someone, designing an art installation or even naming a section of the space.

The site is on Lea Bridge Road, Waltham Forest. Read more and donate here.
