David Hockey at Serpentine Gallery

Step into London springtime with a backdrop of vibrant colour and bold strokes with Serpentine Gallery’s first David Hockey exhibition.

Hailing from Bradford, West Yorkshire, Hockey is bringing his immense ninety-metre-long panoramic frieze “A Year in Normandie” to London for the first time, designed to be walked alongside so we can immerse ourselves in the progression of nature’s seasons.

Following on from his Tate Britain and Royal Academy of Arts exhibitions, Hockey’s rebellious blues will now pop against the traditional Kensington Gardens.

David Hockney: A Year in Normandie and Some Other Thoughts about Painting will take place at Serpentine North Gallery, West Carriage Drive, London, W2 2AR from 12 March – 23 August 2026.
