Bill’s Pop Up with Nate Maingard
A special Pop-Up this week as the second hour was taken over by Nate Maingard. I’ve been planning to get this talented singer/songwriter on for ages and his live session didn’t disappoint.
If you like yer folky artistes like Nick Mulvey, Edward Sharpe and First Aid Kit, you’ll love Nate’s music.
And if you don’t normally go for the folky type stuff, you’ll still love him anyway. Nobody can resist his magical hugs.
He kicked off with my fave, Everything Is Not What It Appears and carried on with a sparkling set which included an amazing Lennon cover.
At no extra cost, Nate’s fellow Lyrical Nomad, Romain played us a great song all bout being positive. Blimey, it was catchy. And they harmonise beautifully by the way.
The chat between the songs was pretty loose and free flowing. We talked about his vlogs (they’re addictive!) including the Tube Strike (!), his patreon site , the music industry, The Lyrical Nomads, spiritual matters as well as sexual matters.
The session ..er…climaxed with Nate’s big song I Will Devour. And if that’s not an audience magnet, I don’t know what is.
