Bill’s Pop Up 180415
It was an FA Cup Pop-Up Special this week. By which I mean I casually mentioned that the Reading/Arsenal clash started at a funny time, 5.20 and indeed, as I write, the outcome is still hanging in the balance.
A score I CAN confirm is the Rio Cinema/Hackney Picturehouse Late Night Fight. It was a draw. They both screened “Cobain-Montage Of Heck” as their midnight movie.
It was also National Record Store Day, so I dusted off some fine oldies like Huey Piano Smith’s Don’t You Just Know It. Loads of new tunes as well including up and coming artistes Goodbye Chanel, Say Lou Lou and Helene Michele.
Theatre was catered for as usual and Tweet Of The Week was awarded to Grace Forell for her Joni Mitchell homage. Alongside a pic of the “Hejira” album cover, Grace tweeted: “enough contents for a whole movie in one song. #Like No Other”. Spot on!
