Anish Kapoor at the Hayward Gallery
Immerse yourself in a world of abstract sculpture, featuring gargantuan works of stretched PVC and pitch-black bottomless pits. Groundbreaking artist Anish Kapoor is exhibiting a new solo show at the Southbank Centre, a major survey of his past and present works.
Kapoor is best known as the legendary sculptor of Olympic Park’s Orbit tower – most of his pieces are abstract shapes that manipulate space or the viewers perception of it, with a few new pieces being debuted that “appear to turn the world inside out and upside down.”
He exhibited his first major UK show at the Hayward Gallery in 1998, so this is a return to the space for Kapoor after almost 30 years of growth and continued practice.
The show runs from Tuesday 16th June to Sunday 2nd August at the Southbank Centre’s Hayward Gallery.
Tickets: £22 here.
