Anisa T x Mark Stuckey x Alan Farrago
On this week’s Midweek Reset, Anisa T says goodbye to September and heads into spooky season with two hours of music, culture, fashion, conversation and cosmic reflection.
Mark Stuckey from BBC’s The Repair Shop joins Anisa to talk about the unexpected journey that took him from performing magic to working with nuclear weapons, the stories behind his book Bright Spark and his fascination with ghosts and the unexplained. Together they explore that intriguing space where science, physics and the esoteric meet – as well as a particularly moving story from The Repair Shop.
Alan Hughes-Hallett, founder of Farrago, joins Anisa to talk about bringing the old-school house party back to London. Phones are put away at the door, strangers actually talk to one another and live music, DJs and unexpected performances replace the endless documenting of a night out. They discuss whether we’ve lost some of our spontaneity, what happens when people are forced offline and creating community outside London’s private members’ club culture.
Elsewhere, Anisa looks ahead to Celebrity Traitors, talks Charli XCX, Madonna, Raygun and the VMAs, and heads to Paris Fashion Week for Matières Fécales’ The 99 Percent – a collection exploring immigration, class, race and representation, staged publicly at Place de la République.
In the Cosmic Moment, Anisa moves through Libra season, the aftermath of the Aries Full Moon and Mercury entering Scorpio — before looking ahead to Venus retrograde. We’ll talk about THAT next week…
Music from Kings of Leon, Talking Heads, Phantogram, Groove Armada and more.
Featuring @anisatopan, @hoxtonradio, @farrago.uk and @therepairshoptv.
The Midweek Reset with Anisa Topan airs every Wednesday from 2-4pm on Hoxton Radio.
