The Alternative Hour w Elspeth Pierce

The alternative hour this week focused on positive vibes only, reflecting of the positivity of human nature in light of the Manchester community’s reaction to the atrocity that took place this week. Stories of musicians and celebrity’s random acts of kindness were mixed in with offerings from the listeners via Twitter, and the sunny soundtrack to the show lifted the mood.

With the weather finally giving us what we need and ahead of the bank holiday weekend, Elspeth filled you in with Festival news and announcements from our beloved festivals across the capital during the summer.

Track of the week this week was from Broken Social Scene, with a long awaited (seven years in the making) release – Hug of Thunder from the album of the same name released via City Slang records on the 7th July.

They are playing Brixton Academy on Wednesday 24th May.
