South Korean Ceramics Exhibition: London Craft Week
If you think pottery is just about pots, think again. Icheon and Beyond: The Space Within Form at the Korean Cultural Centre UK transforms ceramics into a meditation on space, time and craftsmanship. Created with Icheon, a UNESCO Creative Cities Network hub for crafts and folk art, the exhibition explores the idea that a vessel’s true meaning lies not in the clay itself, but in the empty space it holds.
Featuring 27 artists, including 21 Master Artisans from Icheon and six Contemporary Artists, the exhibition balances tradition with experimentation. Delicate, timeless ceramics sit beside bold contemporary works that challenge expectations while honouring centuries of Korean craft.
Part of London Craft Week 2026, the show highlights the shared appreciation for materials, patience and process found in both Korean and British craft traditions. It is a quiet, reflective exhibition that invites visitors to slow down and look more carefully.
Running until 5 June, this is one for curious minds, design lovers, and anyone who appreciates beauty with a side of meaning. Go for the ceramics, stay for the quiet revelations.
