Cheers to World Whisky Day: Best spots for a tipple on 17th May!

If you’re looking for a reason to raise a glass, look no further — World Whisky Day is here! Celebrated this Saturday 17th May, it’s the perfect excuse (not that we needed one) to sip on something smoky, smooth, or spicy. Whether you’re a single malt purist, a bourbon lover, or just whisky-curious, Saturday is all about coming together and enjoying the golden nectar known as whisky (or whiskey, depending on who you ask!).

So… What Is World Whisky Day?
Launched in 2012 by a Scottish university student (because of course it was), World Whisky Day is now a global celebration of all things whisky. The idea is simple: get people to try whisky, enjoy whisky, and maybe even learn a bit about it along the way. No snobbery allowed. You don’t need to know your Islay from your Highland — just show up and sip.

Whisky, Whiskey… What’s the Difference?
Let’s clear up the great vowel debate. It’s “whisky” in the UK, Canada, and Japan. But if it’s from Ireland or the U.S., you’ll likely see it spelled “whiskey” with an “e.” The drink is basically the same — distilled grains aged in barrels until it tastes like something you’d want to write poetry about.

Now for the important part; here is our top five spots where you can enjoy a tipple right here in our ‘hood’ this weekend.
