Queer East Festival 2024
Explore boundary-pushing LGBTQ+ cinema, live arts and moving image performances from East and South-East Asia on your doorstep this April.
Founded in response to the regions’ systemic lack of representation on stage, screen and behind the scenes, the fifth edition of Queer East Festival returns to the capital with a multidisciplinary line-up that varies from dance to documentaries.
Opening with a UK Premiere of the coming-of-age story, A Song Sung Blue (China, 2023), a nominee for last year’s Queer Palm award at Cannes, and closing with a sold-out 50th anniversary celebration of Isao Fujisawa’s Bye Bye Love (Japan, 1974), long considered lost until the radical work’s rediscovery in a warehouse in 2018.
Queer East Festival is between the 17th and 28th April 2024 at various locations across London with tickets and more information available here.
