Impressionists on Paper: Degas to Toulouse-Lautrec

Transport yourself to the salons of late 19th century France this November as the Royal Academy of Arts invite you on a journey through the ages of art.

Bringing together 77 works ‘Impressionists on Paper’ explores the avant-garde movement that changed the artistic landscape as realism replaced romanticism in Paris.

Displaying pieces from Edgar Degas through to Henri Toulouse-Lautrec the show depicts the seismic cultural shift of the beginning of the Third Republic in which watercolours, pastels and drawings were increasingly seen as aesthetic equivalents to paintings.

Impressionists on Paper at the Royal Academy of Arts runs from 21st November 2023 to 10th March 2024.
