Bill Tidy’s Retrospective at Hyatt Place
In the heart of the city, Hyatt Place London City East proudly unveils a retrospective of the iconic cartoonist Bill Tidy MBE.
This exhibition, curated by Bill’s daughter, Sylvia Tidy-Harris, will feature 30 of Bill’s cherished cartoons, all available for purchase. Notably, 25% of the sales will contribute to an art bursary.
Bill Tidy MBE, a legendary cartoonist, was renowned for his wit and the remarkable speed at which he could bring his drawings to life, often matching the pace of his speech.
Over his illustrious 65-year career, he created popular cartoon strips like ‘The Fosdyke Saga’ and ‘The Cloggies’, which infused humour into the subject matter, no matter how sensitive or diverse, endearing him to a wide fan base.
The free exhibition will be open to the public from 9th November 2023 until February 2024 at Hyatt Place London City East, 45 Whitechapel Road, E1 1DU.
