Become a Foster Carer or Supported Lodgings Host

Have you ever thought about becoming a Foster Carer or a Supported Lodgings Host? Hackney Council hold regular information sessions for people who are interested.

During the sessions you’ll find out what kinds of qualities and skills are required to become a foster carer, and you will be provided with detailed information on the process of becoming a host. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss your thoughts.

Importantly, you will learn what children and teenagers hope for from a foster carer or host. Some quotes from children include “not to be labelled as a foster child”, “all we want is a normal family setting” and “someone who cares and is loving”.

Hackney Council hold information sessions on the first Wednesday of every month. The next session is 2nd March 2022.
