Kickstarter Broadcast Journalist
JOB SUMMARY
Primary Tasks: Produce and support creative and engaging news and program material to an exceptionally high standard and assist in planning next day or longer-term coverage news and entertainment programs. To work on the assignment desk, plan daily news coverage for use on air – online – on social media.
Reporting on arts and culture across London creating multi media content for use across our channels. The candidate will create written, audio and visual content for use on air, online and for social media. The candidate will work with presenters and producers within Hoxton Radio and will also work independently on solo projects.
SKILLS NEEDED
Bachelor Degree – Write, translate and adapt items, news stories or programme material and to edit packages at the desktop • To keep up to date with main news stories and undertake background research and checking on factual information • Liaise with correspondents and producers, gathering information and advice on stories and coverage • Provide ideas and suggestions for programmes, stories and attend events / screenings / openings when required • Manage and undertake pre and post production and studio work.
WORKING HOURS
3 days per week totally 25 hours.

Hoxton Radio will provide comprehensive training across broadcast journalism including writing for online and radio, reporting in the field, news reading on air, presenting on air. David Preshaah station director will act as a mentor to the candidate sharing his 15+ years of broadcast radio experience.
