The Alternative Hour w Elspeth Pierce
Elspeth was back this week with a brand new name for the show with the title: The Alternative Hour, continuing to bring you your fix of all things indie, rock and, well, alternative. Brand new tracks were also featured from the likes of Ulrika Spaycek, Chastity Belt, The Black Angels and more with gig and festival news for in and around East London.
She was excited to share that there is an ACTUAL national day that matters: Record Store Day. this Saturday 22nd April. Alongside Hoxton Radio’s takeover of members club Lights of Soho that will be playing out throughout the day, she revealed other stored that will be celebrating in their own fashion, namely Rough Trade East with a whole day full of live music and DJs, spme of which are Hoxton Radio faves. Boxed In and The Black Angels.
The requests were coming in thick and fast. as were tweets with positive feedback about the new show title (phew) and Elspeth almost spontaneously combusted with newly released info about The National Pet show, taking place at The Excel Centre on the 6th and 7th May.
Track of the Weeki this week was from Mac De Marco with On The Level. He is playing sold out shows at Brixton Academy on the 30th and 31st May
