Hoxton Movies

Hoxton Movies is a weekly film review show on Thursdays from 6 – 8pm. The show rounds up the latest in movie news and reviews of current releases plus we host a range of guests from the film industry or those hosting events around the capital. We also have a revolving line up of features including “In Defence Of…”, “Retrospective”, “Cult Vault”, “Comedy Gold” and “Versus” as well as showcasing the best in movie music with our soundtrack of the week.

The Presenters:

Niki Alexandrou
Also the producer of the show, Niki has been hosting the show for the past three years, before that presenting on Student Radio and commercial radio in Brighton, Juice 107.2.

Matt Williams
Matt has been co-hosting Hoxton Movies for over two years. He’s written about film for various publications and a film critic for Resonance 104.4fm.

Morten Wright
Morten joined the show last year to promote Genesis and became a permanent presenter a little later. He previously wrote and edited Quench Magazine while at uni before then working with Flatpack Film Festival and on the London production scene with the producers of this year’s musical hit Sing Street.

Rowena Alice Lewis
Rowena started co-hosting on Hoxton Radio in April 2016, but became a permanent presenter for Hoxton Movies a few months later. She is also a film critic and showbiz presenter for BBC Three Counties Radio, on which she has also interviewed the likes of Mark Ruffalo and Michael Keaton.

The show is brought to you in partnership with The Genesis Cinema, the only truly independent cinema in the East End of London, situated on Mile End Road between Whitechapel and Stepney Green tube.
