At The Counter x Ladies of Restaurants

This week on At the Counter…

Loads of foodie news from our good friends over at Eater, who have launched a series of awards including Restaurant of the Year, Chef of the Year and more. Polls only last 24 hours, so head over to Eater London to cast your vote. Nominees include Xu, Andrew Wong, Koya Bar and more.

Restaurant of the week: The Cow Saloon over in Westbourne Grove, an oldie but a goodie. Head out west to indulge in some cosy bistro vibes, oysters and champagne.

New Openings:

Be sure to check out Leandro Carreira’s new spot, Londrino down on Snowfield Street. A Portuguese inspired restaurant with an emphasis on seafood. PLUS it doubles as a wine bar, which means to the wine list is on point. Also while you are south of the river, pop your head into Duddells, a new spectacle of a restaurant that comes to us from Hong Kong. You can read more about what to eat thanks to our friends over at Hot Dinners who were lucky enough to test drive it last week.

Our guests this week were co-founder of Crumble, Scarlett Dixon and founder of Tonic Communications, Frances Cottrell-Duffield. The ladies will join Natalia at Ladies of Restaurants: In Conversation – your questions answered this evening (29th November) at Hackney’s Our/London vodka distillery. The conversation covered the highs and lows of being a working woman in the hospitality world, Christmas menu planning and guilty pleasures and why there are so few women in senior roles across the industry.

Join us next week as we are joined by the owner of The Laughing Heart, Charlie Mellor, who will walk us through his Christmas wine list. We’ll be tasting live on air, so tune in to get some top tips on what you should be pouring this year at the dinner table.
